Modern 5 bedroom with salt water lap pool

This beautiful and spacious 5 bedroom home is located close to the beach with amazing views of both the ocean and the mountains. This villa features exquisite wood working, stainless steel kitchen appliances, large and comfortable beds, a salt water pool. The home is located close to Rancho Pescadero, many good farm-to-table restaurants as well as a long and very unpopulated white sand beach, which is about a 5 minute walk away.

The space

There are two bedrooms on the first floor just off the pool. One has a king bed, the other has a California king bed. The bedroom farthest from the pool is not accessible directly from the house and has its own entrance at the back of the house. These bedrooms share a bathroom that is accessed across a small breezeway. There is also a small foyer on the first floor where beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler and beach towels are kept. There is a small futon in the foyer that can flatten to be an extra bed suitable for a child or teenager as it is not particularly big.

The kitchen and living room are located on the second floor, as well as a bedroom with a queen bed. The bathroom on this floor is not attached to the bedroom.

On the third floor are two more bedrooms that both have California king beds. The master has an en suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate steam shower as well as a walk in closet. There is a small patio with beautiful views of the ocean and a spiral staircase that leads to the rooftop whale watching deck. The other bedroom does not have an attached bathroom. It also has a small patio and the main window faces the beautiful Sierra de Laguna mountains.

The house is the tallest around so the views are incomparable. You can look west to the ocean, north to the nearest surf break or east to the dramatic Sierra La Laguna Mountain Range. The house has a hefty water filtration system that makes the water potable (everywhere except the 1st level bathroom), which means you can drink the water from the tap! The pool is a 70 foot solar heated salt water pool with a large pool deck. There is a table and chairs that seats six as well as lounge chairs and shade umbrellas.

The neighborhood is very tranquil and sweet. It is near the soon to reopen fancy Rancho Pescadero. There are several great restaurants within walking distance of our house.

Guest access

You will have access to the whole house except for the garage. Use of the swimming pool and grounds is solely for guests. There is a house on the adjoining property which may or may not be inhabited (its a 2 bedroom, 2 bath that is also available at an additional cost should you need more space).

Other things to note

Please be aware that there are three flights of stairs and the communal living space is on the second floor. Also many of the countertops, including the kitchen, are taller than standard height. Stools are provided in the bathrooms and kitchen for your comfort.

Also we really try to live in harmony with nature and as a result try to refrain from using strong insecticides. We fumigate many times per year with natural products and this seems to do a good job of keeping bugs at bay. Please be aware that the summer months are a buggier time in general and while we try our hardest to keep the house bug-free you might encounter a few in the warmer months.

We installed AC in the whole house except for the bedroom on the first floor with its own entrance. AC is not necessary except for July to October as it does not tend to be very hot outside of those months. We will likely install one over the summer in time for next high season.

We do not have laundry facilities onsite at this time. This will change in the future but at this time we can recommend a laundromat in Pescadero where you can drop your laundry off and pick it up clean and folded.
